Greetings. [Jan. 8th, 2014|12:05 am]

I am not known here, I am somewhat new to these paths, though I have been searching for personal meaning for quite some time.
I am writing here because I have created a group on Facebook for Elfkin in order to connect. As much as I feel a level of disdain for such digital platforms, they do provide a certain ease to reconnection. If you are seeking to reconnect with others, please, you are very welcome to join.
I hope this message finds you all well.

Link to the group:

It is a closed group but I will approve most members, I just wanted to keep spammers and trolls at bay.

(I will be cross-posting this to other groups, I do apologize for the repetition.)

I also hope this is allowed to be posted, I mean no disrespect.

Russia: Elven lore and kin research performed, what about your country? [Jan. 11th, 2011|01:46 am]

There is a revolutionary book on Elves printed in Russia - "Pathway to the Unicorn": thoughts about the reality of the Elven race and also about how to distinguish Elven features among us now living and after all what to do with all that.
There is also one Russian researcher of Scandinavian lore and traditions Leonid Korablev, keeping similar position to the author of the "Pathway to the Unicorn" and famous for his studies among the Russian elves-related fandom. But not only. Twice (in 2003 and 2005) Leonid L. Korablev was given grants from the Ambassador of Iceland in Russian Federation Mr. Benedikt B. Jónsson. So, a researcher from Russia is interested in Iceland's traditions more than the Icelanders themselves!
Talking about the fandom, there are many Russians not only believing they are elves spiritually, but taking into account the physical features. It is not so strange to compare someone or oneself to an elf, the image of the Elves is quite clear among Russians.

But, as for the West, as far as I can trace the Western literature, there is only a book by L.Gardner "Realm Of The Ring Lords" devoted to historical reality of the elves. But it gives a questionable and strange version that Elves = Cathars, or something like that. No features list. No recommendation, no Choice idea.

So, the question is - what about your country? Do your people walk among the Elven artefacts, live in the country where some geographical names are devoted to the Elves and do nothing with that? What about Iceland? Why there is no popularity of idea of believing and claiming to have Elven features? Why there is no such a book to make them believe.

The more people believe, the stronger the Race's spirit enabling it to maintain the rebirth process :)

Fic: He Should Neaten His Hair (The Silmarillion) Boromir/Unnamed Wife Aegnor/Andreth [Jun. 17th, 2010|03:47 pm]

Title: He Should Neaten His Hair
Author: phyncke
Beta: Keiliss
For: OEAM Writer’s Circle
Characters: Boromir*/Unnamed Wife, Aegnor/Andreth
Disclaimer: I do not own these characters, they are the property of JRR Tolkien and his estate. I have borrowed them for my own amusement and for yours I hope.
Story length: Double drabble
Summary: A father worries about his daughter.

“Nothing good will come of this.” Her father sat troubled at the table as his daughter yet again left the house for a walk with the elven noble. She fairly skipped from the room, light of foot as Aegnor bid her parents farewell with the promise that he would return her shortly after the sunset.

“Boromir, he is a good, kind person. Brave by all accounts, a skilled warrior.”

“He is not of our kind. It cannot be. And he should neaten his hair.” The elf’s short blond hair stood in all directions.

“My father did not like you either.”

The man slouched in moody silence, staring into the candle, upset by a foreshadowed tragedy he felt powerless to prevent. His wife pressed her hand to his, a comfort in that small gesture.

“It is what it is and you know how Andreth is. She is headstrong and she will do as she will. You cannot forbid her to see him. She will always find a way.”

“I know,” Boromir said.

This would not be the last they discussed this, and for now he let it the matter drop, returning to his tepid meal of meat and summer vegetables.

*Boromir here is the First Age, of the House of Bëor.
